Prof. Dr. Rupprecht Podszun has been re-elected for another two years as Vice President of ASCOLA, the Academic Society for Competition Law. ASCOLA is the world's most important association of academics whose work focuses on antitrust law. The organization has about 500 members from around the world. Israeli Professor Michal Gal of the University of Haifa remains president, and Professor Peter Picht of the University of Zurich serves as treasurer. Each year, ASCOLA organizes a competition law conference lasting several days - it will be held as a virtual conference for the second time in 2021. Rupprecht Podszun and his team, led by Sarah Langenstein, are co-organizers of the three-day Zoom conference with about 100 talks. This year's keynote speech will be given by Carl Shapiro from UC Berkeley. Last year's guest was EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager. The ASCOLA annual conference will be held July 1-3, 2021. More information: www.ascola.org.
